I am considering buying a straight edge solo kayak. Would appreciate information on its performance, stability, rigidity and any other factors you care to bring up. Thanks

I have the StraitEdge 2 kayak, and have tried it solo or with two paddlers. It's longer than the solo version. I find it very stable, and rigid. When I put two beginners on it, they handled it with ease and had a great time.

I own 3 of the straigtedge solo yaks. I first saw the straightedge solo in use with a guy catching a large marlin from one, and that impressed me alot. My son, now 16 and my wife both paddle the straight edge solos too. My wife is very petite, and she handles the boat fine. When my wife is in a hard shell, I worry about her, when she is in the straigtedge, I don't. They are extremely stable, track quite well and have multiple applications. I have owned and continue to own hard shells, and some of the people I have paddled with look down their noses at inflatables, but when they are messing with their spray skirts, or having to stop by the shoreline to "try to empty" the water from their boats, I just keep on paddling. I love the self bailing! I have paddled mine on up to class III rivers, and fished from it on lakes. I drive to where I want to paddle, open the trunk and within 10 minutes, I'm ready to go. No worry about racks, scrathing the car, or security. I also use the thigh straps when I'm on a river, and also use a wind paddle on lakes. Very versatile. Since owning the straightedge, I have purchased an AE Expedition and now use it for my primary fishing platform. I still own hard shells, but 9 times out of 10, it's the inflatables that I paddle from. On the service side, I have found that Advanced Elements if top notch as they have gone above and beyond any expected level of customer service. If you do buy an AE product, you won't be dissapointed.
