| Should the hull ID number on the outer skin match the ID number on the tube? I purchased a used 2005 AE1002 and the 2 ID numbers don't match. Is this normal or did the seller intermingle the skins and tubes from the 2 boats he was selling? Thanks. |

If you bought it used from somebody, they could of gotten a replacement tube or cover. In this case, the Hull Id #'s won't match up.

| Thanks for the responses. I thought the IDs should match. I hope this doesn't cause a problem when I try to register the boat. My state requires these kayaks to be registered. |

Many states don't mind how the ID is affixed as long as its permanent or secure.
You can CAREFULLY cut off the mismatched tag from the inner tube with a razor blade. (Try cutting the threads holding it down.) If you want to be extra safe, take out the inner tube first.
Write the correct hull ID where the tag use to be with a Sharpie or the like.
Good luck.
