What material are the stern and bow inserts made out of. I want to make an accessory with the same material and would like it to match. Also, is there a special knot that is used to tie the bungee cord that holds them to the deck handles?

The material is PE (Polyethylene) Board. A common plastic. No special knot is needed for the bungee.
