How do you keep factory seat from slidding forward at bottom? Do you attach velcro strips to seat bottom and floor? Yes, have feet braced against front tubes. Sad

I can't say that I've had a problem with the seat sliding forward but, right from the very beginning, I've folded the duffel bag that the kayak came in and put it under the seat. I figured it would give me better support and a bit of a lift off the floor of the kayak. Maybe this also helps with keeping the seat in place. I don't know.

Another possible solution would be to place a towel across the seat, extending on both sides and tuck each side under the main tubes. This might help prevent the forward motion of the seat.

What tends to happen (even with feet braced against front) is paddlers may lean back or lay back after awhile of paddling. They may also squish the back of seat under their PFD while trying to enter the kayak. If you lean or lay back the tops of the seat wants to go down and your bottom wants to go forward so the bottom portion of the seat will then slide along with your bottom.
1. Make sure that the back of the seat is not folded or squished
2. You want to push your lower half (your core) into the seat and sit straight up.this will keep it from sliding.
3. Make sure the straps are adjusted to the appropriate length that best suits you.

We assembled our new convertible over the weekend - we saw a plastic connector at the back of the seats and another on the deck cover.

What are these for? Do they get connected together some how?

Yes, I have one of those on the back of my seat too, but I don't ever remember seeing anything about it in the assembly instructions or in any of the videos I watched.
I've never used it to secure the seat and it doesn't really look like it would do much for holding the seat in place.

If you are talking about the bungee cord on the back of the seat and the D-Ring on the back of the cockpit opening of the zip on deck, then the bungee cord can be looped through the D-Ring to help hold the back of the seat in place.

I don't see how the short bungee cord attaches to the deck cover D-ring, without untying and re-threading it through the spring clip each time.

Or is that the recommended method?

Thanks!
