Hi. We just picked up our double kayaks this morning, and we're very excited about using them on our lake-hopping expedition in the Sierras. As I look at the kayak I've inflated in our living room floor, I'm wondering how we're going to keep it safe or locked up when we're off on a long bike ride or overnight. Wish it had a metal ring or something to deter theft. Don't really want to deflate and store it every time we leave the campsite. Suggestions?

Mi wife & I use something called a "cable lock" that we purchased at Home Depot. The lock's cable is about 10 feet long. With the kayak fully inflated and in operational condition, we simply run the cable around one side of the kayak's tube-shaped main air chamber (you'll have to run the cable under the exterior canvas), and then secure the remaining cable to a tree, or the truck axle. It's just like locking up a bike in a bike rack, but the cable is much longer. This method has worked great thus far.

I hope this helps.
