Went kayaking at Stanley lake in Idaho in June. The water was very cold but I never felt cold in the kayak. It was a nice day though around 80. I'm not sure how the hard shell kayaks do in this regard but the way the flooring is designed in the Advanced Frame it seems to insulate you from the cold. Red Fish lake and Stanley Lake are a couple of very nice spots to kayak.

So far my wife and I have been taking them out at least once a week and love the kayaks. We have found that we don't bother putting them into the carry case except for the end of season. It saves a lot of frustration Smile
