how about the
AIRHEAD AHP-1 Double Action Hand Pump

It looks taller, but the graphics on the pump are the same as on the AE pump, aside from the added logo.

Found the technique for straightening the fin... "The fin is small enough to where it usually doesn't make too much of a difference. Over time it will straighten out. To speed up the process, you can leave the kayak upside down out in the sun. The fin will warm up and soften as well and bend back to...

Just received my AdvancedFrame

It's the one made for Marine West, with the zipper-off cockpit option (which is a very nice feature). My first impressions are that the fabric and material are quite strong and durable. The metal advancedframe gives a nice sharp front and trailing edge, and feels very sturdy. It inflates quick. 5 mi...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/spuzzum42/3413263576/in/photostream/ Is your West Marine the 8'4" one? I'm wondering if the Skedaddle XC that I posted above has storage behind the seat. And it can be used on more than sheltered lakes, right? I saw the video of it on whitewater, and I'm assuming it can...

skedaddle 2009, differences?

Looking at the photo of the 2009 West marine, it looks like there are no deck lifts.. (although it still states having 5 chambers) http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:JwCf7oLd-9gJ:www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_11151_10001_98044_-1%3Fcid%3Dchanintel_google%26ci...

differences?

I would double check before purchasing to see if you are getting last years model or the current 2010 model.
What are the differences between the Lagoon/Skedaddle XC 2009 model and the Lagoon AE1031-O model? (aside from different colors or logos)

AF Sport- seat dimensions & paddle sizing for kneeling

half a year later, I'm back with more questions... this time spring is coming, compared to winter  After a lot of shuffling between various brands and models... I'm back to Advanced Elements for the reason of better tracking, and back to the Sport for the reasons of: -aluminum ribs and V front...

Sitting & Kneeling for someone 6'1"

How would the 1 person straightedge be for someone 6'1" (150 lb) to sit with legs straight out? Is there an ability to add a cushion seat? and how is this kayak for kneeling? I figure that more varieties of sitting will strengthen, as opposed to wear out, my comfort and how long I can paddle. Also, ...

Great. It sounds like it can handle up to 100* easily enough then. And seeing as I'd only use the heated cushion when it's cold, the temperatures should even each other out somewhat. I figure a piece of bubblewrap mylar could also be put under the cushion to protect the kayak a bit more, and reflect...

Maximum temperature kayak can withstand... heating cushion..

I'm looking forward to extended the enjoyment of kayaking into the fall and maybe even winter. There are a variety of battery heated vests and seat cushions that could extend the comfort as well. The vest and cushion I'm looking at (Gerbings) each have settings from 85*F to 135*F I'm guessing the sa...
