No, you're right, I did speak with you about it. I ended ordering the blue one and was just hoping in the future it'd be possible to get a blue strap, but I understand it that's not possible. Regarding the drop stitch floor, can you say how hard it is? Is it something that I'll need to add some padd...

Questions about AF DS-XL
Hi, I just ordered an AdvancedFrame DS-XL. It's great to see one in blue! It will be replacing my red one I purchased in 2011 (passing it on so family can kayak with me!). I was wondering about the drop stitch floor. From what I read it seems to make the kayak a little easier to track and a little f...

When inflating chamber 1, you will inflate until the kayak rises off of the ground and has some shape. This is Approx. 1 psi. You may get a reading on the gauge if you have one but usually not. Move to chamber 2 and inflate until 2 psi. You should, at this point, have fairly equal amounts of air in...

Inflatable Boat laws/regulations
Hey guys I took my inflatable kayaks out a few times last year without any problems and then I picked up a 4 man inflatable raft (different brand) and when I went to take it out on a small lake in a county park they told us it had to be coast guard approved. Note they only inspected the boat which h...

When to use
Hey guys I just got my backbone today (too cold to try it out). And I was reading on the instructions not to use it in rivers and shallow waters. So I am just trying to find out when is the best time to use it. When I kayak it is usually rivers/large ponds/small lakes. Is this even going to be usefu...

I got my AF 10.5 earlier this year and love it. It's very portable and easy to pump up. I h ave had no problems with durability. I have ran over some rocks in a shallow river and not a scratch. As everyone says it's very comfortable, assuming you're not very tall (like over 6'). I don't have a probl...

Thanks everyone for the tips. I took it out successfully today on a park pond. It's very stable and maneuverable. Just a little slow. I did notice an odd sound once but I think that was the waves pushing the inner chamber so I think it's fine (looks fine). Anyways I really like it and can't wait to ...

How much air is suppose to be put in the 1st chamber. Instructions say "until the kayak begins to fill out or appear to be half way inflated". I've also read on the here different things like until the pump gives resistance or until the kayak gives shape. I'm just trying to make sure I don't over in...

Hey thanks for replying. I actually just got my AdvancedFrame today and I definitely plan to mess around and make sure I get a good feel with it. First I just need to fill it up. I was kind of confused with the whole 'partially inflate chamber 1' and not knowing how much psi is. But I will figure it...

AF Questions
Hey guys I've been kayaking now a few times (just rentals) and decided I wanted to get a kayak of my own. I've been looking at the AF for portability and stability. I plan to use it for small river rides / calm lake rides. So if I understand right this would be a great boat (stability wise) for begi...
