I would be inclined to stick to the standard pressure myself.
But check once the Kayak has been in the water for a while and top up if need be , just watch out if you leave the yak on land in the sun!

Just keep in mind that it`s actually one round chamber with a vertical dividing membrane , creating an inner and outer ring , thats why the first side you inflate will always seem a little soft . Check them both afterwards if you have a guage . Definitely the heavier adult in the rear seat , makes t...

Sounds perfect to me. My wife does`nt always paddle and sits up front but our Convertible is very easy to paddle and control , i did buy the backbone which definitely improves tracking and glide between paddle strokes . These AE craft are so stables and sit quite low in the water , so don`t catch so...

You could try (re) welding it by laying waxed oven paper over the seam and using using a soldering iron through the paper whilst supporting it on a hard level surface . Practice on a cheap inflatable beach toy first. Thats often how they repair kitesurf bladders , otherwise try your local kitesurf s...

Firstly , i too i wish you better health and lots of paddling fun the coming years. I usually go for around 2.3 psi on the inline gauge and have also been using the backbone which due to the fact that it presses against either end using the air pressure , with two spade like end pieces , works as a ...

I think that would be defeating the object of having the backbone in the first place . Because the BB is held in place each end by tube pressure means the bow and stern of the kayak are then joined by an aluminium tube under tension forming a bridge and the hull a hydrodynamic concave V shape , incr...

Which electric pump ? The low pressure fan type one i hope!! That should be used just to fill out the kayak and then top up with a good handpump . The easiest way is to use an inline pressure gauge available from your AE dealer , which takes away all the guesswork.

Hi cdalmeida As far as the PFD goes ...my wife and i both bought the Astral v8. Amazing ! high back which clears the standard seat in our Convertible, really light and cool with the internal ventilation coupled with the waffle profile against your body, means you can paddle for ages wthout getting s...

Check the distance between the velcro patch and the main tube zipper , if these are the same then your main tube outer covers may not be correctly aligned on the inner pvc inflatable bladder causing these to appear wrongly mounted . On the other hand they could just be in the wrong place , in that c...

Definitely improves the glide!. The V-hull shape created produces dynamic lift , the tracking and therefore forward instead of sideways during paddles strokes and will thus also benefit all round performance, speed and directional stability . Make sure to check that your tube pressure are correct to...

i would seriously recommend that you buy an inline pressure guage and not just trust how many strokes of a pump! considering that air pressure changes with temperature and altitude, it wil always remain a guessing game and make it difficult to do a quick check on an increasingly hot day when all tha...

Have you considered the Convertible ? , my wife and i just love ours , and it`s effortlessly fast too , with excellent tracking too especially with the backbone fitted.
You can also take turns paddling when you get tired.

Re: 303 protectant; which one?

Hi, just bought an AE1012 and have seen lots of posts recommending 303. They sell vastly different products, however, and even the Amazon reviews are all mixed up in regards to being under the wrong product heading. I have both the: #30674 High Tech Fabric Guard with Water Repellant [and] 303 Aeros...
