Actually Danny, this was a pretty old post, but you just happened along at the right time. I just saw a convertible come up for sale on kijiji today. Seems like a good deal to me; http://www.kijiji.ca/v-water-sport/muskoka/inflatable-kayaks-for-sale/1175806423?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true If that...

Packlite Mods
I've made the modifications that I wanted to make to my Packlite ultra-light kayak. I have detailed those mods in a blog post, if anyone is interested in checking it out.

Hey AT; Just a tip..... Before you cut the adapter that came with the Packlite, find some garden hose that you think might work and cut the 1" piece of that first. Then see if that 1" piece will fit on the end of the pump hose you intend to use for your Packlite. It should fit on quite snug. It will...

Hey Rubicon; I don't have an Expedition, although I was considering one not too long ago. I do, however, have an AdvancedFrame, and I can give you some perspectives on that one. I love the AdvanceFrame, and it fits me perfectly. However, I'm only around 5'6". I did have some trouble with my feet und...

First Impressions
I have now received my new Packlite, and I've done a 'First Impressions' post on my blog, if anyone is interested in reading it. I know that when I'm looking to buy things like this, I really like to hear other peoples impressions of it. I don't rely solely on other peoples perspectives, but I do us...

Just to finish things off, so that everything is perfectly clear, here is a picture of my little Intex pump, with the modified Packlite adapter on the end of the hose. It just pushes on, and pulls off. When it's off, the fitting on the Intex pump does fit over the twist valve on the Packlite also, s...

Hey AT; Well, I won't really have a chance to try it out until the ice melts, but it is just as I expected it to be, as far as material, workmanship and design goes. It is a bit bigger than I had expected, when folded up in the bag, but that's not a deal breaker, because it still only weighs about 4...

Okay, so I've come up with a solution that works for me. I'll go through what I did step by step, with pictures. First, I cut a 1" piece of ordinary garden hose; http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd115/AlanHb/bea905c7-cac5-4b8a-b363-530b0f3a4358_zps305296cb.jpg Then, I cut the adapter provided with...

Hey AT; My AdvancedFrame kayak is also stamped 'Coach'. I believe that this is the person who inspected the kayak before shipping. I received my Packlite today, and I have inflated it. The adapter that came with the Packlite fit directly on to the hose I use for my AdvancedFrame kayak. I believe if ...

Hey cd, welcome aboard. Since you're dealing with high temperatures and you're not using a gauge, you will need to keep an eye on the pressure, especially if the kayak is out of the water. I agree, it's good to get used to how the kayak should feel when properly inflated, and this makes it easy to c...

Hey MissMelodie; An embarrassing mistake that I made, when I first got my kayak, was to lock the valve in the open position, by sticking my finger into the middle of the valve, pushing down, and turning it to the open position. I figured that this was the inflate position and, for the life of me, I ...
