Seat under AF Elite
Lee mentioned putting the seat underneath the AFE near the cockpit . This makes it much easier to connect the poles with sliding lock sleeve. It took me a few times to get it right but I got the hang of it. Also helps when disconnecting the poles.

Thanks. I will give that a try. For some reason when the button is depressed is will not go down all the way to sled the sleeve. That is the reason for pushing the button down with a micro screw driver. Otherwise I find the AF elite easier to assemble than my old DS 1012.

I just follow the video .The pin does not go down or up so easily. All i know is you have a small v or y when you connect the poles. I am not strong enough to do otherwise.

Sometimes the button will not pop up without working it. The light weight and glide of the kayak are great, I lov...

RE: AE Kayaks
No kayak is perfect. I have two AE kayaks. It takes some time to learn what they can and cannot do. Enjoy them for the benefit they offer. Thank you AE!

RE: AF elite and 1012 DS
I own the old 1012 DS from 2012. I like it alot but wanted something with more glide and length. I bought the air fusion elite last year. I find both fit my needs. The AFE is easy to set up and can be done just as fast as the 1012, Both have advantages. Just take the time and get to know how to padd...

Backbone DS Floor
I have the old blue DS 1012. Can you under inflate the DS floor and use the backbone? I also have the AF Elite kayak and the poles due make a difference in glide. I hate to buy the flimsy floor to use the backbone if it can be use on with the DS floor under inflated. Any thoughts?
