To attach the clips, all I did was put three plastic zip ties through the existing setup and clipped the new seat onto those. It works perfect, and there is no need for any other modifications to the kayak. Easy Shmeezy. :)

Here is a link to the seat I purchased: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/143 ... -Seat.html

It was expensive, but it is still in just as good of condition as it was the day I bought it, and it has made kayaking so much more enjoyable for me.

I'm glad that it helped. Our kayaks are still going strong, and I still love my highback seat. I wouldn't want to go back to a regular seat.

That's a great video with the dolphin. I love seeing stuff like that. I used to shrimp off of the coast of Florida. We lived on the fishing boat for about a month without any sight of land. Anyway, every night we had schools of sharks (LOTS of them) around the boat. They would disappear and the scho...

I use my gopro in the sun all the time with no trouble. I usually wear it on my left wrist while kayaking and while snorkeling. I have noticed that my battery life is not very good on this camera, and your posts about internal heat are beginning to make me wonder if the heat might be the reason why....

Pearly,
It looks like you had a great time! You've got some great photos of it all too. Congratulations on getting not one, but two sailfish on your yak. I bet that was very fun and exciting. Did you get pulled around much by those big fish?

I use the gopro surf hero camera when I go out on the water. It is a good camera for on the water and snorkeling. It is not a good camera for indoor or dark situations though. It does do well while snorkeling. Daddy-O *EDIT* Here is the link: http://www.goprocamera.com/products/surf-hero-camera.php

We have both the 10.5 and the Convertible. We use them exclusively in the Caribbean Sea (along our coast). Both of these are very stable in large swells. Any kayak will be unstable, however, when put in the waves that drive towards the shoreline, unless you know how to paddle in those conditions. Tw...

We bought two Convertibles at the same time (well, they arrived about the same time. Anyway, one of them would track to the right. I noticed that this kayak had a kink in the tube on the right. I had to take the kayak apart and slowly adjust the inner tube on the right side to get the kink out. I th...

Pearly, You have had a rough year health wise. It is amazing what you have been able to do after going through what you have gone through. We miss your fishing reports and your fishing, but I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say how happy we are that you are healing up. Get completely well, then ...

That might work for some people in the 10.5 (not for my 11 year old though), but it would take a bunch of them to work in the Convertible.

There is definitely a need for the foot brace. The 10.5 needs something to give additional stability and control in waves. The Convertible really needs something for the person in the front, and for when being paddled solo. We stuff various objects in the front of the kayak to give us a make-shift f...

I thought about informing the authorities, but I am pretty sure they won't do anything about it. We're not in Kansas anymore, and things don't operate the same around here. I guess I will go to the authorities with it though. There is a lot of drug traffic that goes in and out of here, low flying pl...

Human skeleton found

I took a trip with two of my children on our two AE Convertibles yesterday. We went out to a small island about 1/2 mile out in hopes of doing some snorkeling. We got out there, but didn't see the usual beautiful sea animals. I knew there was another island about 1 1/2 miles out from this one, so we...

Thanks for those pictures Ian. I love that rod holder, and will rig one (or two) up this week before our trip.
