I've stored it laid out and I've stored it folded in the bag. As long as it was clean and completely dry when I put it in the bag, there was no difference. If it's damp, and you won't be taking it out for a few days, it's probably best to keep it laid out so it can dry. A couple of days folded damp ...

Thanks, Jeremy. I actually wound up putting a little patch on both sides. Probably overkill, but I know that pinhole won't get any bigger. 8)

Pinhole in outer gray material - Glue?

I know that a dab of glue is all you need for a pinhole in the tube, but I was wondering if this would work for a pinhole in the outer gray bottom. I noticed a small pinhole looking "injury" on the bottom and when I looked inside, I can see that it went all the way through. Must have scraped a rock....

I bet many people have home waters that offer similar variety. Yeah, and I drool over their pictures, too. I live near Lake Michigan, so I have the lake and numerous rivers, smaller lakes, and creeks. It's pretty, with a lot of wildlife, but doesn't offer the kind of variety you've got. You a...

Thanks for sharing the pictures and the blog. I was really interested in the straight edge. I talked a friend of mine into trying my 10.5, in hopes that he'd get one and become a paddling partner. He was a little too big and had trouble getting into the cockpit, so it looks like the open deck might ...

Congratulations on your purchase! I've been getting mine ready to go out after a long winter. I've taken mine on small lakes, rivers, large lakes and a bit of ocean. The only really noticeable difference I've experienced between the AF and a hardshell is that the AF is more susceptible to wind and l...

Coincidentally, one of the first times I used my 10.5 I ran into a couple that had the Convertible. We compared our kayaks and the length, weight, and convertible top seemed to be the only real differences between them. My 10.5 inflated faster, and I was able to carry it on my own. I love my 10.5. I...

I've got a 10.5, too, and love it. Enjoy yours! I'm also very jealous of your weather. I'm sitting in snow and ice right now. I keep thinking of taking it out on the water, but the air temperature is making me resist.

Thanks, SF48. That's a good idea.

I know the backbone helps with tracking in general, so I'm thinking of giving that a shot, too.

Windy conditions and the AF

I've been paddling my AF 10.5 for a few months now, and I can't think of a purchase that I've loved more. This weekend, though, was the first time I've really noticed the difference between this and a hardshell. I was on a small lake in windy conditions, and had a harder time keeping from being blow...

Quite frankly, this new forums seems way too much. The thing is that this forum doesn't have a whole lot of traffic, so separating the previous 4 topics into 40+ different topics is a bit overkill. "Issues/Problems" and "Repairs" can be consolidated as well as all the accessories. That's just my op...
