I use a standard spray skirt that I picked up at REI. The opening on the boat is pretty standard, so the fit is fine there. However, due to the height of the inflatable coaming the skirt must me worn in an unconventional way. I wear mine on the outside of my pfd, up around chest height. Trying to we...

Do you think they have an "Impending Nutcase" file that they collect this stuff in...just in case?

I guess we'll have to wait for a moderator to chime in here to answer your question. I've never been one, so I don't know if there's like a "recycle bin" or whatever that deletes are kept in. I tend to doubt it, as being the caretaker of such a thing would seem a bit over the top for what is almost ...

In any of the forums I've belonged to, usually the moderators will delete a post if it's deemed out of bounds. One larger forum that I joined let just about everything go, and man there were some nasty battles raging there. Personally I like the smaller, more intimate forums where everyone agrees th...

Sorry to hear you're having such troubles with that tear. I've been lucky to have no such problems with mine thus far, but I have to admit I do carry it to and from the water. I do beach it when I'm pulling in though, and I've been duly impressed with the toughness of the hull so far. Mayb...

I've yet to kayak in truly cold conditions, primarily because I don't have the proper gear for it. The latest I've been out here in Massachusetts is late October. I wore my usual lightweight shorts and T-shirt, and spray jacket. The inside of the kayak is surprisingly warm because of the confined co...

In 2006 the Expedition was called the Ultralite Expedition, because it had a lightweight main air tube. There were issues with the material of the air tube, so then they brought out the regular Expedition and changed the color of the boat from red to yellow.

jimbo, was that the ultralite expedition? If it was, AE took the initiative on their own some time ago and sent me (and I presume everybody who owns an ultralight) a new inner bladder. I inquired as to what I should be looking for when replacing it, and they mentioned something about "white spots" o...

If it's really bad and I'm facing a stiff crosswind while headed for my destination, then what I will do is revise my route so that I head as straight into the wind as I can until I'm past my destination, then cut back with the wind behind me. I've had a few instances of this on big, open bodies of ...

Quite frankly, this new forums seems way too much. The thing is that this forum doesn't have a whole lot of traffic, so separating the previous 4 topics into 40+ different topics is a bit overkill. "Issues/Problems" and "Repairs" can be consolidated as well as all the accessories. That's just my op...
