Rapidup Sail

I haven't been in the forum for some time. However I just noticed my review video for the Rapidup Sail that I did several years ago is up to 101,000 views. That is amazing. I still have the sail and use it whenever possible. I hope I helped sell a few.

That will work. They do use the forum for just that purpose. I've made quite a few suggestions over time and some have been implemented. Also any tricks, modifications, etc. are throughout the forum. However in this case, the clips they use are standard out of stock hardware. We use them for a produ...

Thanks for the note. I haven't been on the forum for some time. I tried small biners at some point and found that they are either too cheap to hold up or they allow the sail to lift off the deck too high, which causes the sail to shift side to side violently in heavy wind. I went back to the snap ho...

Sorry for the delay on this. I was in a car accident in December and needed time to recover. I'll try to get to it soon.

Alright, I finally got the video recorded. I just need to edit the hell out of it so it makes sense. I had a pretty good wind and got up to speeds a bit faster than you can paddle. I brought a GPS with me to show the speed. Last weekend I headed out in 20 mph wind gusts but to be honest it was too d...

Well, just an update. I have been kayaking every weekend and even a few evenings and have yet to have a decent wind that would show up on film. Except for the one Saturday when I forgot my camera. Of course. Even on days I have had wind, and my camera, as soon as I got on the water it died out. Howe...

Setup but no ride

Went out yesterday morning to Mason Neck Park (Belmont Bay) here in northern Virginia with the sail in hand. Nice cool wind blowing. I put the sail in storage and paddled east toward the point. Unfortunately near the point is where all the party boats gather. Had to navigate through them to get to t...

Rapidup Sail - New Configuration

Its been quite some time since I've been on this forum. I have an Expedition kayak that is currently in Florida for use when I'm there. I now use a Current Design Vision 150 hard shell kayak as my main kayak. The reason I'm here again is that I missed the Rapidup Sail. I used one previously on my Ex...

Deck Lift Tube Installation

I received a replacement right rear deck lift tube to replace one that burst. Is there any trick to getting the tube all the way down into the "sleeve"?

Louis, Leave the floor in but take the seat out. The foot brace you can leave in as well. I have the back bone so I have to take the floor and the foot brace out when deflating. However you need to remove the seat. Yes you are correct on the inflation of the small tubes. Only partial pumps are best....

Louis, I also have an Expedition so let me attempt to answer your questions. The best way to tell if the manual matches your kayak is the inflation valves. If the kayak has the same inflation valves described in the manual you have the correct one. Other than the valves there haven't been any major ...

Jeremy, I did as you stated but it didn't help. I went ahead and pulled the tube ring out and partially inflated it. The kinks were still there. I'll try again with full inflation. If not then I guess I'll go ahead and unzip the tube and reset the internal tube(s). Is there anything I should be look...

Kink in Tube after Four Years (Expedition)

During the yearly (four so far) ritual of prepping my expedition for the coming year I noticed that I have developed a kink in the tube on both sides near the front of kayak. Both kinks lean inward and are also distorting the deck lift tubes. This is usually something a new kayak has issues with and...

When you come up with the best method, bait, and locations let us know. As I stated previously we are supposed to catch and kill them here because they are destroying the native habitats. They used to be just a fish tank fish, from China I think, but apparently someone let them go and now we have a ...

I'm glad you finally got to fight one. They are great fighters. I know here in the Potomac River they seem to hang out in areas like your last picture, in the weeds. I have kayaked over the weeds and occasionally they'll spook you because they move so much water. I assume along the edge of the weeds...
