Knot Tying

Post by thesilverknight15 » Sun May 30, 2010 2:44 pm

Whether using some rope as a cheap paddle leash or tying down the boat in bad weather, knowing a variety of useful knots seems to be of some use to a kayaker. Are there any books, videos, webpages, what have you anyone could recommend as a good place to start?

A good place to start:

Google search will find two or three more.

Seems like 90% of the time I mostly use just three: bowline, anchor bend, and trucker's hitch.

A good one handed knot is the falconer's knot. I used to do falconry and have carried on using this knot ever since! shows quite a good demo.
