In praise of AE Convertible

I have now owned my AE Convertible for over 10 years. During that time I have used it frequently in Scottish seas and lochs and French seas and rivers. It has performed and worn well in that time. Apart from a slight fading the fabric has remained fairly much as new.

I have fibreglass kayaks and it performs favourably to them. When I am in my hard shell my wife using the convertible (she likes its stability) seems to keep up with little difficulty.

One summer, in France, I left it too inflated in the strong sun. An almighty bang announced the price of my carelessness. Although gutted, it was amusing to watch other campers hastily reduce pressure in their inflatables. On the positive side my UK dealer (Voetex) could not have been more helpful or generous.

I would encourage buying that backbone which in my view significantly enhances rigidity, seating position, and speed.

In summary, the AE Convertible is an excellent product. I may say I have no links with the company and benefit in no way from this review.
