No problem! Two Rok Straps hold the bag very securely on the back of the motorcycle. It is about a 20 minute drive from my apartment to the Golden Horn (Grand Halıç). There I park the motorcycle just a few meters from the water, set up the kayak, and off I go! The motorcycle actually works better than a car given how close to the water I can park. Usually I spend a couple hours out on the water and make a leisurely 10k round-trip out of it (including a stop for a fish sandwich).
The Golden Horn does offer its own unique challenges. There are rather large ferries that you have to steer clear from. And seaplanes that take off and land in your path. And sometimes you must squeeze your way between fishing lines as you pass under the bridges. All part of the fun!!
If you are ever in Istanbul and happen to have your kayak with you, send me a note!
