First paddle trip

First time out my “newâ€￾ 10.5 this afternoon. Cruised the Carquinez Strait, from 9th street to the State Park and back, outbound into about a 15 knot quartering wind. I’m very pleased – the 10.5 is everything I’d hoped and expected it to be. BTW, I’m 6’3â€￾, 225lbs, and while it is a snug fit for me, I found it to be quite comfortable once I shed my shoes.

Had a little bit of left turn tendency, probably due to a slight main chamber misalignment, and maybe a little bit due to the quartering wind. Skeg’s at about a 45 degree deformed angle also, but I’ve read that it doesn’t have much effect.

Many thanks to all of you for your posts in this community forum – your comments were a primary factor in my purchase decision.
