Difference between model years
I have a person with a 2005 or 2006 conv which he is looking to sell. He only has used it a couple of times. it's in very good shape. My question is have there been any significant changes through the years on these. I thought I did read somewhere the inflation valves have been upgraded in the later models. Is this something I should stay away from or anything else I should worry about. Any help would be great.
Hi Enferraro
Welcome to the forum.
All of the avdanced elements products are great no matter what age.
As you said there may have been a few very minor changes but nothing that would affect the value. In fact they still look the same.
If it is a bargain price I would grab it your never look back with regret.
There fantastic Kayaks.
I am sure others on the forum will be able to tell you more.

I don't know about your specific years, but when I bought my convertible earlier this year I found it was made in 2008. I sent a question to info@advancedelements.com, and they reassured me that there were no changes from that year.
Check the two threads at http://www.advancedelements.com/phpBB2/ ... um.php?f=2 to find the definite model information, and ask at the same address, and I'm sure they'll give you a definite answer.
Having said that, their video at http://www.youtube.com/advancedelements ... wtsj3aUi4U shows the various valves and the years they were used.

If it is a 2005 then it has the older style Bravo Valve and a different zipper around the opening to zip on either the single or double deck. If the seller does not have either of the decks, you will not be able to get it for this model year. 2006 models have the current zipper and the current Spring Valve.

I have an Advanced Elements Convertible 2005 model.
I ordered a solo deck, then read about how a newer deck wouldn't fit the older kayak.
So I was very pleasantly surprised when the single deck arrived and turned out to fit the older kayak without any problem.
I am sure it is indeed a 2005 model, because it has the older type air valves, and the serial number ends in a 5.
