It seems I got the limited edition. LTD was not mentioned in the web store. Instead it said the manufacturers code is AE-1009-B.

On the packaging it clearly says AE1009-LTD but there was a little sticker put on top of the "LTD" with a hand written text "Blue".

I'd like to know how significant (and in what ways) is the difference between what I have and the ripstop material mentioned.

What other differences (if any) are there between the LTD and the 2016 model?

The AE1009-B is not available until 4/28/2016.
You received a 2015 AE1009-LTD. The retailer probably just put a "blue" sticker on it so they new and did not get it mixed up.
Who did you order from. When I went back through the thread you had mentioned you were ordering yellow.
The ripstop is more or less an aesthetic feature.
That is the only difference between the AE1009-LTD and the AE1009-B

That was someone else.

Alright, thank you. Yea, the material looks as ripstoppy as anything to me. Just a different pattern. And it's not like I'm expecting any rips for it to stop anyway :)
