I experienced the exact same tear as mentioned in this post.

Except mine was maybe 1/8th of an inch long. I used clamps and the patch kit to patch it and I waited 30 hours, and I just pumped it up and it didn't sound like it was leaking. I will test it tomorrow. However, if the patch ruptures, is this covered under warranty? I've only had the kayak for 3 months.
I have the pump with the pressure gauge and I don't over-inflate. I also dry it out with a towel and in the sun partially pumped up. (1 PSI) I always carry it, but I have used it about three times a week for a month straight.
I've really enjoyed it so far but I have trips planned with it every weekend through September and would be really frustrated if I spent as much money on it as I did to know it was just going to break.
AE Expedition Repair
Customer service was great and I'll tell you why:
1. They responded the same day I sent the email and twice on the next day.
2. They helped me make sure I would get the replacement part, under warranty, as soon as possible, being the next day since I live so close.
Thanks Ritchie!
I'll post some of my kayaking adventures on the site.
