Hi JCOOLEY and others,
Anyone have a short summary of the current best practice for waterproofing and UV coating over the lifetime of a boat (Expedition Elite, if it matters)? Other threads mention McNett ReviveX for waterproofing and McNett UV Tech for UV coating, I assume both applied to the outer side of the fabric.
Are these the specific products? https://www.gearaid.com/products/revive ... ay-durable, https://www.gearaid.com/products/revive ... uv-protect. FYI for anyone else looking, McNett's products have been rebranded as "GearAid."
Separately, I could see adding the question "Should I apply UV and/or waterproofing to my kayak?" (and direct links to the products that AE recommends) to https://www.advancedelements.com/support/general-faqs/. It's mentioned in the forum (https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3A ... OR+revivex) but not in the FAQ or manual.
Waterproofing and/or UV coating
Re: Waterproofing and/or UV coating
Those are the correct products. For water repellent, you could also use Rustoleum's Never Wet. AE has tested this product as well with great results. Never Wet can be found at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. There's a few different types (for different applications) just make sure to get the type for fabric.
