Holes appear at seams

Post by Ed_Nebraska » Thu Jun 10, 2010 6:52 pm

This is the third summer that we have been using our strait edge 2 kayak.

The first year we had no issues but at the end of last summer the floor developed a hole at the seam. We patched it but a second hole appeared else where on the seam so we replaced the floor chamber.

This year the side chamber developed a hole at the seam as well which I was unable to patch even with tear aid. We were on the lake at the time and we only just got back to shore before the side completely deflated.
We have really lost confidence in the kayak now and are loath to use it on rivers, camping trips or too far from the shore on lakes for fear that it will deflate without warning.

I always inflate to the correct pressure using a gauge so am not sure why this is happening.

Is there anyway that Advanced Elements can manufacturer tubes without seams because this seems to be a real weakness with the kayak
