Water getting in
I'm getting water inside. Today close to a gallon in 45 minutes.
I don't believe all of it is coming from the paddle.
Is there a way to check the seams or something else?
Thanks
Darrell
Paddling the Carquinez Striats.

I have the Lagoon I
I just have a Lagoon I. It is fun. It doesn't go as fast as my friends full on sea kayak but it handles way better in the small wave action of the Carquinez Straits. And that is what I love. I'm looking to try out some class 1 and 2 white water sometime with it.

The Update
I filled the kayak with water and sure enough at the seams of the fabric the water was coming out. I sent a report to info@advancedelements.com.
They were very quick to get back to me. Email said this can happen when over inflating or left out in the sun.
Oh. I probably over inflate the tubes. I like them really hard. I always over do things. (If a little bit is good then a lot must be better, right?)
I'll be looking into getting a pump with a pressure gauge on it.
I don't quite understand the sun part. Every time I kayak it is in the daytime when the sun is shining.
Anyways the fix is to apply Aquaseal to the seams on the inside. They offered to do it for me If I take it over there. (They are located just across the water from me.) But I think I can do it myself.
I'll let you know how that goes.

Can't paddle tomorrow.

Good to hear you're getting a pump with a pressure gauge.
The Lagoon is such a forgiving boat that you don't need to inflate it fully. On hot days, I often inflate it less than full -- maybe 85%. This means it has a little "give" but it doesn't fold in the middle when I pick it up at one end. I've paddled it full of air and it really doesn't need to be that hard and rigid. I tried it once about 2/3 full and it floats but is pretty soft. I like how the Lagoon handles at about 85 or 90% full, not absolutely full.
The worry is that if you leave the boat out in the bright, hot sunshine the air inside the kayak will heat up and expand. If you're on the water, the kayak loses much of this heat to the water. But if the boat is sitting on shore or in very shallow water, it can get pretty hot inside. The inflation chamber will stretch and could be damaged or even pop.
When I want to get out and have a picnic or something on shore, I let some of the air out. When I'm ready to go, I puff up the boat a bit and go.
