puncture in the flexible body of the foot pump

Post by Snook » Mon Feb 28, 2011 8:41 pm

How can I fix a little puncture in the flexible plastic of my foot air pump? I cannot reach enough air pressure in the kayak.

Thanks

Depending on the size, you can cover it with glue like Aquaseal or add a small patch to it. You can also try TearAid

I think it needs a patch. But, what kind of patch? I do not know if the ones used for bicycles works.

You can try TearAid which is a self adhesive patch or you can glue a patch on. The material needed is nylon.
The TearAid might work best and the method for repair is as follows.
Unscrew metal band on pump so you can access inside. The inside coating is vinyl. Apply the TearAid to the inside over the hole. Screw metal band back in place. Should work well. Otherwise glue nylon patch to outside.
TearAid type B
