Dear Community,
my name is Olaf and I have just purchased an AE Frame Convertible Elite and f i n a l l y was able to launch it first time on Feb. 26th after months of bad weather.
Was paddeling a small river called "Jade" located in the northern part of Germany at the North Sea.
I am very happy and satisfied with this kayak and planing tours on the river Weser, the river Rhine in summer 2022 and Caledonian Channel / Loch Ness next year.
Hope to meet some interesting people here in Germany, Scotland and UK and all over the world and maybe meet and join for a trip.
Warm greetings,
Olaf

Glad to welcome you to the forum!
I hope you enjoy your Convertible Elite. Will you try paddling on canals where boat traffic permits? I hear there are many canals in Europe, and there are some fine ones in Scotland.

Hello Paula,
indeed, I am very happy with the kayak and looking forward to paddle some rivers in Germany as well as anywhere in the world.
There are some fine rivers in Germany, some of them are official waterways with strict rules and lots of cargo ship traffic.
Some others are for recreational only with no merchant ships.
Looking forward to discover some canals and rivers in Scotland as well.
I have never been to your area, Paula, although I have lived in the USA for a while in the 90ies.
It must be a stunning beautiful area as well and perfect for kayaking.
Greetings,
Olaf

Re: Hello from the German North Sea
As beautiful as my home waters are, I have got to speak up for enjoying wherever one is, rather than wishing to be somewhere else. It would be nice to paddle canals in Scotland, or warm water at a tropical island! And not everyone is as lucky as I am to live near several nice bays and islands and lakes. But there is usually some virtue about paddling near one's own home, even if the best quality is that one can get there.
