Using my AE to make the world cleaner

Hi All, I'm from Malta, a very small island at the South of Europe and while the sea is a huge part of our lives here, we sadly don't take enough care of it. So on a recent kayaking trip this happened.. https://lovinmalta.com/lifestyle/community/maltese-kayaker-takes-matters-into-his-own-hands-and-c...

Hi,

I don't have the deck but I'll try this out (with the all round strap at first). Sounds like a simple yet great idea!

Do you have a photo of your strap in place?

Thanks

AE Convertible won't set up straight

Last weekend I used my AEC but it wasn't set up right and holding her head straight became a chore. So I now set it up at home taking all the time in the world, and despite inflating, deflating, shifting, adjusting and inflating again I can't seem to get the bow equal on either side. This tells me t...

I have transported mine from camp site to lake on my VW with no problem. http://we2rv.com/Kayak/CherryLake6.jpg Is this the coolest pic ever? Thanks all for your replies and I apologise for not doing so earlier. Didn't manage to use the kayak much last year due to various family illnesses & work tr...

Suitable glue for hull

As we enter spring thoughts turn to kayaking again :)

I want to stick a couple of velcro straps to the inside hull to keep the backbone centred.

Any ideas what glue is most suitable? what chemical base - or maybe better to ask which to avoid?

Thanks

AEC on car roof?

I've been wondering if I could set up the kayak at home and take it to the beach on the car roof.

I wouldn't do more than 40mph and have the backbone.

Any idea if I risk damaging the kayak with that wind speed?

Thanks

I've also got the AEC and will add my comments. In the bag I manage to fit the kayak, 2 seats & backbone, roll up bag, small anchor & painter. I don't see the pump fitting but then neither do the paddles. I haven't got the backpack type bag but I'm sure that these could be strapped on outside. A big...

Yes it was good. No lakes around here but we're a small group of islands in the middle of a big sea so enough fun to be had

look for Malta on google maps :)

what glue for inside hull?

Hi all, I want to stick a couple of velcro straps to the inside of the hull in order to secure the backbone dead centre without worrying that it moves off centre as I inflate. The straps won't be load bearing as once inflated, the tanks will keep the backbone in place. What type of glue is best suit...

Hi there, I agree the AEC is a great kayak but getting it together just right takes time, it's not a simple inflate & go kayak. I like your idea of a backbone to slot in end to end. As it is we need to first ensure the inside ribs are in pushed firmly in place. I use the back bone but again getting ...

First time on the sea

I've been out on lakes before but after relocating back to Malta (Europe) last year I have finally been out on sea where I bought the kayak for. It was only a quick trip round a bay, more to ensure all is still in order after being shipped and packed up for a while. First impressions are very good. ...

Hi All, great posts on here, really helpful. I received my AE convertible, really quick and friendly service from Holly at Airkayaks, I strongly recommend them. Now waiting for the paddles to arrive from a local sports centre so I took the advice to practice inflating the kayak at home before using ...
