Hull Toughness
Timbo & NaturalPath Thanks for input. I thought hull was tough, too. Maybe I cut it on something else. All I know is that I felt rock below heels of feet ( no time to react ) than down keel line and than butt! Happened quick. My bad. No I don't have a Backbone in yak.....glad at this point that I di...

Toughness of lower hull material
Just went out yesterday on river run. River is low and managed to avoid many of rocks and debris. However, on return to take-out point I ran over a rock. Upon pull out I saw a slight nick/cut to lower hull. After examing lower hull and inside at point of impact I didn't see any penetration thru hull...

Just a thought here.
My brother and I have had our AE1012's out four times so far. Stability. dependability, and sea worthiness have been unmatched. We're novices but have tackeled waters with white caps and strong head winds. The yaks' have performed well beyond our expectations. The structural make up of these yaks' i...

Rear Deck Bungee for AE1012
Please refer to my last post dated Mar. 12, 2012 for AE1012 rear deck bungee tie down. I have pixs of how I did it and it's working out just fine. Great for storing light items and doesn't effect stability of kayak. I would need your email addy in order to send pixs in as such as this is a personal ...

Seat Attachment
How do you keep factory seat from slidding forward at bottom? Do you attach velcro strips to seat bottom and floor? Yes, have feet braced against front tubes.

Rear Tie Down Advance Frame AE1012
Hi himmelsyna! Yes! Ice finally off rivers here but some still on lakes.....I don't want to play 'ice breaker' with kayak! Regards rear deck tie down it's rather simple, but it works and you can still use D-rings if need be. I got a ten foot section of 3/16" diameter bunge/shock cord at local sporti...

Rear tie down
Thanks himmelsyna for response! I think I have ice out now here, but will wait for waters to warm some. I've solved rear deck tie down problem and quite simple really. I'm sure my fix will work and must say that it looks like it's factory! I'm waiting for good weather/temps to put my new kayak to th...

Thanks again, Timbo, for response. I'll keep this all in mind once the ice/snow leaves my area. Take care.

Thanks Timbo, I'll do that. What about my idea of pump with gauge for launchs and bellows pump for touch up? I really don't feel confident with bellows for pump pressures on various bladders. Combing and deck lifts still feel under inflated. Just thinking here.

Thanks for input, Timbo. Appreciate response. I really don't want to "Blow Up" literally, the yak! It hasn't seen water yet.

Hi Guys & Gals! Waiting for Spring thaw but decided to set-up my AF1012 for instructional purposes. Yes, eager to get out. Anyways, all I have in foot pump and tried to follow inflation instructions carefully. However, it seems as though the combing tubes and deck lift tubes don't seem to be firm en...

Rear Deck bungee storage for AF1012
Thanks guys for response re bungee storage. I realize the more weight you put on deck the higher risk of turning turtle.....I swim like a rock so will use caution. I figure most items will fir behind seat or under front deck.Time will tell for I've got frozen lakes and rivers here so must wait for S...

AE 1012 seals
I've heard various opinions regarding seal placement. Some say wear seal over life jacket others say wear under. What's the concensus here??
