exiting kayak
Larry, Hi! I'm kind of your neighbor (live in Gilbert) and have had an AE convertible for a couple years now. I find that the best way to enter and exit the kayak is in a little deeper water (about half way between knee and waist high). After paddling for several hours, my legs are pretty much aslee...

Fixed pin hole
Last time I was out at the sea of cortez fishing, I noticed a slight bubbling along the top of the kayak about half way down the right side when a large wave would splash over it. I was able to fish for a couple of hours and never felt the boat get spongy (AE convertible). Returning to camp, I disas...

Blue ridge reservior - AZ
We just returned from a trip to the woods in AZ. There were 4 adults, 8 kids, and one AE convertible kayak. On saturday, we spent the day at blue ridge reservoir. We shuttled everyone across the lake 2 or 3 at a time and spent a great afternoon fishing, catching crawdads and paddling around on the k...

paddle choice
Brian, I am not an expert by any means, but do use my AE convertible for fishing very often. The longest paddles that I go on are about 8 miles in the sea of cortez. I have the aluminum shaft Day Tripper, and have been happy with the larger surface area to help push the kayak through the water. It h...

Jeremy,
Thanks, I'll try to find it locally. What about tears/cuts in the gray material in the bottom?
Regards,
Jim

Convertible repair question
Hi,
Today when getting my AE convertible out of the water, I noticed a 2 inch cut in the black 'plastic' area at the front edge of the boat. Any idea of what I would use to repair it?
Thanks,
Jim

Not sure backbone is worth it...
Hey everyone, I've had an AE convertible for over a year. I bought the backbone when I first got the kayak. Since then I've used the kayak in the Pacific ocean, Colorado river, AZ lakes and Sea of Cortez. I love the boat and use it often for paddling and fishing. I've used the boat with and without ...

outer hull material?
Jeremy,
I want to attach some d-rings to the outer hull. There are many types available from NRS. Can you tell me what the outer hull material is?
Thanks,
Jim

fishin' is fine!
Hi all, So I've been a convertible owner for a month now and have fished out of my kayak several times. It works very well, and I've probably caught over 50 fish in my 'yak. I've got it rigged with a crate behind me in the center position. I made up a PVC cart with wheels to move the whole outfit fr...

pvc clarification
Jeremy,
Thanks for the reply. Can you elaborate some more on the PVC idea? I'm not sure I understand what you are proposing.
Thanks,
Jim

D-ring attachments?
Hi, I have a convertible and fish from it. My fishing rod holder is a small milk crate with PVC pipes tie-wrapped to it. I hold this down behind my seat with bungee cords wrapped around the tubes. My question is this: Is there a way to attach d-rings to the kayak for various attachments? Regards, Jim

convertible tracking
Hi all,
My convertible wants to track to the left. I tried all the things in the owner's manual, but to no avail. Any tips? (I do have the backbone and like it.)
Regards,
Jim
