Good to hear from one of our boys in Iraq! We are proud of your work. I bought the AE convertible in Oct 07 here in Michigan and have used it 40 to 50 times in the past year. I am happy with the boat, ( I am 6'4" 260lb ) however one of my major motivations for the convertible was not realistic. I am...

keeping up in AE convertible

Jeremy .. thanks for the questions.. Yes I was using the AE convertible in solo mode... it is a lot of boat. Yes, I have noticed that it is easier to move faster when I have someone else with me.. I did have the backbone installed and the inflation correct ( "did not fold when you lift it" test ) th...

keeping up with hardshells

This past week I went out with a large group of hardshell kayakers for the first time.. A five mile paddle on a windy Detroit River. I was able to keep up for the first half, but slowly fell behind... coming in last, as I had expected. Although I am a rookie, I suspect that my lagging had more to do...

backbone confusion

With my AF convertible, I did buy the backbone, but have only been using it intermittently, trying to judge the difference. until now my observations have been: - with the convertible in two person config, the spine seems to add performance. I suspect that it might be because there is less energy ab...

Chlorine and AE convertible ?

I am particpating in an indoor kayak class. The first session they supplied tiny whitewater boats to use in the pool. My 36inch inseam legs were in excrutiating discomfort after a while. I asked if I could bring my AE convertible for the next session. The instructor agreed but warned me about to che...

OK,
I have already bought the double action pump that came with the AE kayak... is there a separate gauge that can be used concurrently with the AE- supplied pump? Where can I find it?

Thanks John

legroom for tall people in the AE Convertible

I am 6'4" and the proud new owner of an AF convertible. I have been out in the boat about 5 tiimes since I got it one month ago. I have plenty of horizontal legroom when I paddle the convertible kayak alone ( most of the time. ) due to the generous space that is not used by a second occupant. My obs...
