I had to wrap duct tape about 3/4 of the way around the outside of the pump nozzle to keep it from popping out of the main chamber valves during inflation. It's a low-tech fix, but it works.

As far as the kayak paddling to the right, it could of been that either your main tube was kinked or that your floor was off center. Check to make sure there is no kinks in the tube first once it is inflated. If there isn't make sure that your floor is center. If the floor is off to one side over t...

If you don't want or need the extra room under the deck, I can't see how it would matter if you inflate them or not. However, it does tighten the outer cover to the main chambers a little more, which might improve performance a little.

Maybe this is helpful? I use a footpump for the bulk of inflation of the maintubes, until I feel noticeable resistance. It save A LOT of stress on my back. Then I use the AE handpump with pressure gauge to "top off". The gauge only seems to read accurately while the handle is being moved, therefore ...

I just ordered a Bravo 1 foot pump to take along, as an emergency pump, along with my Tear Aid patch kits...

The only place Google found that had both was:

www.waterstrider.com

Free plug :) They have lots of cool stuff for inflatables.

Here's where I'm at: I pulled everything apart. Sure enough, there's a very tiny tear in the skin, under the hole in the black stern cover. I ordered a Tear Aid Type B patch kit (actually two of 'em), I'll get it fixed in a few days. Some thoughts: 1) Those black bow and stern "bumpers", whatever, s...

Does it have to be Type B (Tear Aid)? I'm asking because NRS has Type A, and a few other things I'd like to get, but don't show Type B on their site. Just want to be sure...

Well, I got my Expedition, took it out for it's first trip yesterday. I did a few gentle beach landings, was careful not to drag it, and yet... :( When cleaning it up after getting home, I found a large tear in the stern black rubber "bumper", and possibly a tiny tear in the gray skin underneath. Ov...

That's exactly what I wanted to know, thanks :)

Could you pack the foot pump compressed, maybe wrap a bungie cord around it? It that wouldn't damage it, it looks like it'd be pretty compact. I can fit the hand pump in front of the foot brace, but then nothing else will fit... I looked at the Bravo 2 foot pump on NRS's site, is it generally good q...

Smaller alternative for air pump?

I just received my AF Expedition, haven't had time to take it out yet, but so far I'm really impressed. I ordered the hand pump/with gauge, and the thing works great, but it's freakin' huge! I want to use my Ex. on multiple day trips, and I can't imagine not taking a pump, to keep everything topped ...

Thanks for the tip :) I ordered an Expedition last week, should be here in a few days :D I have a boat cart for my heavier foldables, I guess I'll use it for the AE too, just to be safe...
