Rudder Control Upgrade Kit from SEA-LECT Designs

I just received the foot braces and they look great. I cannot wait to try them out. I was wondering if SEA-LECT Designs parts (specifically the rudder control upgrade kit) would fit the Advanced Elements braces. If so, it would work great for a rudder I am endeavoring to install on the Convertible k...

Video of Advanced Elements Convertible with Kayaksailor sail

Here is my You Tube video of the Rig.
At the end of the video I sail the kayak through a 180 degree turn from about SSW to NNE in a wind coming from the east to east southeast.

A great upwind sail for the AE Convertible

After much searching I finally found kayak sail that I love for my Advanced Elements Convertible kayak. The Kayaksailor. See photo below (I hope to eventually post a UTube video): http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/ss112/SoBeCarlos/KayaksailorWebcopy.jpg I had previously tried the Windpaddle. It has...

Before receiving the backbone, I read Lee Johnson's explanation of how to install it. Although I have the Convertible, the process is the same. I think that Lee's reply should be more prominent in this forum or even included in the instructions. It is not necessary to mark the kayak or place a hand ...

The BoatUS name worked very well. It adhered to the hull without problems and the installation was surprisingly easy. The boat has been in the ocean twice since applying the name (and cleaned after uses) with no adverse effect.

Tracking

Having been out in my AE convertibe (in single configuration) every weekend for over one month, I would like to make a few comments about tracking. Because of a UPS error, I received my backbone three days later than the kayak. So, I was able to try it with and without. I will always use the backbon...

Jeremy, thank you for the reply. I contacted BoatUS and they did not know the answer, so they sent me a sample of the material. I tried it on the scrap of hull material which has the inflation instructions printed on it. It worked very well. I ordered a boat name and will post the results when I rec...

Jeremy, do you know if the vinyl customized lettering from BoatUS will work with (adhere to and not damage) the AE Convertible hull?

I use the same cord on my AE Convertible seat to hold a flag mast tube.

Mast step

I have a few ideas for a homemade sail, but while we wait for AE to work out a design for a sail for the AE Convertible, I was wondering if anyone has a good suggestion on how to step a mast into/onto the AE Convertible.
