As long as you are doing this for temporary purposes and not long term storage, you should be fine.

Both are the exact same except for the DropStitched Floor.
Besides graphics, colors and small hardware, nothing has changed in this model since 2006.

I get what loops you are talking about.
They don't have a purpose. It is just the material folded over so that it could be stitched for the Velcro. If you can think of something creative to do with the loops, feel free to share.

The Velcro is just there to cover the Bolt so it does not rub against the material.

The straps on the back of the foot pegs are for wrapping around the tube to secure it in place. You do this before inflating. Once inflated you can then tighten the straps if necessary.

As long as you push into the seat, it will be fine. It is a soft seat and contours around your body. As mentioned before, if you lean back, then the bottom of the seat will slide forward and you no longer have the support needed. The DS floor, being very stiff, is a little more slick therefore the s...

You have to remember that this is an inflatable kayak. What might be a necessity in a hard shell may not be in an inflatable. If it was deemed necessary that the seat needed 4 straps to hold it, they would have been added 16 years ago. Because the stock floor is somewhat soft, it is not necessary to...

It will work in the XLC. It just wedges into the front and creates a flat surface to push feet up against.

The bottom does not have an attachment strap. If sitting properly in the kayak, your lower portion of your body will be pushing into the bottom of the seat so it does not move. You could use the D-Ring kit to attach D-Rings to accommodate an after market seat. Yes, the AE2502 is now available to att...

The Backbone and DropStitched Floor work in similar fashion by stiffining up the bottom of the kayak. The backbone is the cheaper option if your kayak came with the stock floor. Because yours came with the Dropstitched Floor, you shouldn't need the Backbone. If you did choose to use both, it is not ...
