i just wanted to share our trip from yesterday on the Hackensack River and the Meadowlands in New Jersey.
my wife and i were on the convertible while my son rented a hardshell from the hackensack riverkeeper organization (www.hackensackriverkeeper.org). this organization promotes the preservation, maintenance, and awareness of the meadowlands and the importance of taking care of new jersey's fragile ecosystem, which is home to many birds and wildlife.
it was a perfect day to go kayaking, save for the winds that picked up to around ten knots. otherwise, a great day for kayaking indeed!
here is a link to the cheesy video that i created from our trip.

in addition, my son tracked our progress using his smartphone, but he remembered to start the tracking well after we launched. then, he forgot to pause it while we were just sitting on the side of the river while we ate our lunch, so the average speed that it calculated is probably quite a bit less than our actual average speed.

i hope you enjoy the video!
i'm looking forward to the upcoming weekend's trip already!!
