What is this Advanced Frame DS series?

Post by Mango » Tue Aug 20, 2013 3:59 pm

I just saw an Advanced Frame DS series on airkayaks.com how is that different than a regular Advanced frame? I see it comes with some accessories but is that the only difference? Does anyone have experience with it? How is that "high pressure floor" that it says it has?

Thanks

I have an AdvancedFrame with the standard floor, and I find it to be just fine. However, I only weigh 150lbs. If I happened to weigh over 200lbs, I might consider the DS(Drop-Stitch) floor for it's extra support and rigidity.

Gotcha. Yeah I weigh 140lbs so maybe I don't need the floor either. Thanks

The DS series on airkayaks.com is specifically made for them. It is blue in color and comes with a dropstitch floor instead of the standard floor. The dropstitch floor is much more rigid and provides a more solid platform. It also gives more of a hard shape to the bottom of the kayak improving the tracking and performance a little bit.
