10.5 Valve placement, 2005 model

Post by Ryker » Sat Jan 31, 2009 6:04 pm

I have a 2005 model AF 10.5. The deck valve is difficult to fill through the access hole in the deck Usually only about half of it can be seen. (With any luck a picture will be next! Don't quite get this URL linking stuff.)

Your pictures did not show up. But there is a solution to the problem. Around your valve should be a gray collar of PVC material. You can actually pull the valve through the outer hole along with this collar. The collar will help keep the valve on the outside of the hole. It may slip back in here and there but usually the collar works fairly well to help hold it in place.

Thanks! That's what I did for a couple of paddles, but it was just enough off center (about half a valve width) that I was concerned it may cause a problem. Sure makes filling that chamber a lot quicker and easier!
