Seats - securing and alternatives

I have been out in the convertible a few times now and am very pleased with it. I have not, however figured out how to secure the seat backs to the kayak itself. Securing the clips aft of the seats is no problem. I also wondered whether there would be any (comfort) advantage by buying a third-party seat and whether compatibility is an issue. Has anyone tried other seats?
