My Strait Edge Canoe has lost it's Straight Edge

Post by SJack » Thu Mar 22, 2012 10:02 am

After two winters in the garage the internal tubes of my Strait Edge Canoe have lost their shape and are now round, like a Kayak would be.

I am hesitant to pump it up completely as I don't know what's going to happen. Will i tear something inside the tube that helped it keep its shape?
How will the canoe perform, is it usable in this state?

What type of pump are you using? Is that cord in the picture to a compressor? It sounds like you blew out the internal i-beams in each tube. Was your Canoe stored inflated?

that yellow pipe is just a water hose I used to wash the canoe. I have the standard double action hand pump. the early orange one. the kayak was stored in its bag and not used for 2 years (3 winters), and this is the first partial inflation after that
