Roof Top transportation

Did anybody tried to carry AF Kayaks on the rooftop? This sounds like a good solution to dry the boat prior to folding it back into the bag. :?:

Not recommended but it has been done. Make sure it is strapped down nice and tight. One person did have their kayak fly off and it got damaged.

Very local rooftop AE Convertible transport on my Thule?

Post by jasstrom » Thu Jul 30, 2009 6:59 pm

I know how crazy  carrying an inflatable kayak on your roof rack sounds, but I'm wondering  , once I've set camp and inflated my AE Convertible (with backbone), how badly will it travel or effect the boat strapping it to my Thule kayak saddles and traveling 20 - 30 miles down the road to the next lake? Please share any and all experiences carrying the inflatables on roof tops.

Thanks,

Jim
