Need some suggestions

Post by zachys » Tue Dec 16, 2014 8:13 pm

I just noticed more than usual amount of water in my kayak the other day. After inspecting the bottom I found a tiny rip (pictures are attached). Could anyone give me some directions regard fixing this? Thank you!

That can be fixed with a patch from your repair kit.

The tear is easy to repair. Start by making sure the tear is clean and dry. Apply the goop with a disposable popsicle stick or something like it. Apply a piece of the fabric that is bigger than the tear. Leave the kayak in the shade for at least a day to let the glue cure.
On big tears, you might want to put a second patch on the inside of the torn hull as well.
Repairs like this are not hard to do, and well worth the time. I patched a very small hole in the hull of one of my AE kayaks and five years later it is still sealed.
