Any difference with AE1002, AE1004, 1012, etc. (AFrame 10.5)
I'm looking to get one and noticed that the newest one out is AE1012. I've also found stores selling the older AE1002, 1004, etc.
Is there a difference on any of them as the years progressed? Any specific ones I should stay away from, etc?
Thanks!

AF1012 and others
KayakJack: I can't speak for the other models you mentioned, but I highly recommend the AF1012. I've had it for about 1 month and taken it out several times in varying water conditions.
Overall, it is an excellent inflatable with far more positive features than negative. It is very good value for your investment - I am sure you will enjoy it. Richard

The valves are different as well as the graphics and deck material.
AE1012 is the most updated kayak. It has the newer spring loaded valves design by us specifically for our kayaks. The graphic stand out more and we have added a honeycomb ripstop to the deck material.
The overall design of the kayak is the same.

AE1002R Years 2002 & 2003: Design was a little different. Especially year 2002. Color was same.KayakerNC wrote:Is there any easily visible differences between the 1002 and the 1012?
Different colors for the Spring or TwistLok valves??
Anything?
AE1002R Years 2004 & 2005: Design same a current model. Fabric same color as current model. No ripstop. Different (maroon) graphics
AE1002R Years 2002-2005: Twistlok valve was blue with white base. Two main valves were bravo valves which were black. The top of the pluger inside the Bravo valve was blue.
AE1002 Years 2002-2005: There were three times a limited edition was made. Only difference was color. Blue, Cranberry/Raspberry (somewhere between the two colors), Green.
AE1012R: Color the same as all other years. Graphics are gray. Material has ripstop. Twistlok valves are orange. Spring valve is gray with a black cap. Top of plunger in valve is gray.
Limited edition Green color was made for 2009 only.
