I bought my wife an AirKayaks.com Advanced Frame XLC model, their exclusive version of AE1012 with a removable deck, extra 5", etc. I put a lot of time into researching it and I am so pleased to say that it was worth the effort. So glad to be part of this community of people who obviously do their research and care about what they buy! Now I am looking at buying the Expedition Elite for myself!

An excellent idea! Having boats for each of you makes a lot of sense. Congratulations on giving a terrific present to your wife. I hope she enjoys it as much as I enjoy my AE kayaks.
